Safety Guidelines
- Be sure to obtain permission from the owner/authority and/or the property tenant prior to a flight that could be over private property
- Always make sure the operation of radio control aircraft is allowed
- Obtain permission or make prior arrangements to fly near open assemblies of people
- Be sure to avoid flight over sensitive infrastructure or property such as power stations, water treatment facilities, correctional facilities, heavily traveled roadways, government facilities, etc. without making prior arrangements to do so
- At all times give the right of way to any manned aircraft operations. See & Avoid other aircraft at all times
- Always ensure the safety of all persons or property; avoid intentional overflight; and, remain farther than 25 feet away from persons or property
- Fly no higher than necessary (≤ 400’). Try to remain below surrounding obstacles when possible – 200’ is more than adequate for virtually all photography and videography
- Avoid operations in close proximity to airports. When within 5 miles of an airport, contact the airport/ATC
- Assure pilot competency/proficiency and the safe operation of the aircraft
- Remain within Visual Line of Sight (VLOS)
- Please use a spotter when necessary/appropriate
